[Using Sakai] Forum messages - save on context switch?

This sounds like it would be another useful feature now that Sakai has
support for CKEditor, and another very recently available plugin.

Up to the release of Sakai 2.9 (which isn't even actually released yet)
Sakai shipped with FCKEditor. There weren't that many plugins available to
do useful things, and these are really functions of the editor (being able
to auto save, or try to stop you from navigating away). The editor never
really got a lot of attention but this would be a nice addition. I'm not
sure how much effort it would take to implement, but they do have a java
example.

I personally don't trust that any form on any webpage will ever save my
data, this is why I always run with the Lazarus addon and I recommend it to
everybody, since very few forms actually do provide auto-saving outside of
Google.

Firefox:

Chrome:

In the year or so since I've been using this it's saved me a lot of time
and frustration.
