[sakai2-tcc] 2.6.3 and Java 6

Actually we are talking recommendations not requirements. It's no longer a strict requirement that you must run 2.6 under Java 1.5 as we've stated in days past and the release notes should state so (the 2.6 docs are out of date).

However, what we should state clearly in the release notes/install guide is the amount of time we've devoted to testing 2.6 running in a Java 6 JVM (relatively little) as well as the amount of community production experience with this JVM (again, I assume relatively little). That way, those who choose to run 2.6.3 on Java 6 can be warned suitably.

I can leave the demo startup script as is other than adding the strict quote escaping workaround for Tomcat 5.5.27+. This condemns the deployer to running it in a Java 1.5 JVM. That said, I can add to the install guide notes on how to adjust the startup script to run the demo in 1.6. Kinda lame but one has to admit that we don't have much testing time put into 2.6 and Java 6.

Anyways, do we have consensus yet? I'd like to hear from Seth and others.

Cheers,

Anth

These are just realities of software that lives a while -- they shouldn't shift the ground unless absolutely necessary, and documentation maintenance should be additive when not correcting errors. It's still Sakai 2.6.

So these would be the biggest reasons, security fixes and easier availability, to recommend using a new version even on a minor, even if though need to use options.
