[Using Sakai] Create small admin role

Hi Kara and thanks for your response.
I have tried that solution to but run in to a problem in the !site.helper realm. When I "Grant Ability" for a user and save it looks like the user was saved but when I go back to !site.helper there is no users there. Do you know why I can't save users in that realm?

If I as you suggest create a new template how can I then get existing users to use it? A template isn't that for new users only?

It's complicated, but once it's finally set-up correctly, it works well.

And here's a small addition to keep in mind: Instead of using !site.helper as the post suggests, you could just create a new user account template (!user.template.adminlite or something like that) and add the permissions there.

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a role or something that can search and see all Sakai sites (in Worksite setup) as instructor without installing some tool for it to work? We are looking into the possibility of create a liteAdmin role that can't access the other administrative tools. I have tried the adminLite and delegate tools but think it's too much installing and things that can go wrong there (especially with 2.9). It would be much easier to just create a role that can do the thing described here.
