Hello Everyone,

I am a Learning Designer at the University of the Witwatersrand; our unit offers custom Sakai development amongst other things. We are currently investigating into the possibility of implementing full support for text-to-speech (TTS) for our current Sakai instance for both Sakai 2.8.0 and 2.9.2.

We are looking for a TTS that would be able to read a page, menu items, breadcrumbs and status messages. Should anyone have any knowledge on a TTS preferably an open source software application that is compatible with Sakai 2.8.0 and 2.9.2, please assist in advising on what to use.

Does anyone know of any existing approach to extend Sakai's functionality for the hearing impaired?

Regards,
