Why does the Roster use different formats for Student names than the reporting tools?

Roster uses "Last, First Middle:, reports use "First Middle Last" (if student has given a middle name.)

Because different countries use different conventions for if/how to merge middle or multipart last names, there is no single algorithm for converting between formats, and thus reconciling names between the two sources.

One could use Ids instead which are unique and shared, but that makes it hard to identify students on reports.


Is there some setup option for how the names are listed in various reports?
