[Using Sakai] Not all subsites listed in parent site

Hello,

I have created a "master" site for our PhD programme and made it parent 
for all courses (two), seminars (eight), management (two), projects 
(twelve so far) and community (one) sites. Now I can see the breadcrumbs 
on the children sites, but the parent site only shows some of its 
children in the tools menu. So I would be very grateful if you could 
give any ideas about how to fix things so that all children sites are 
displayed in the menu.

P.S. We are running Sakai 2.7.? on Tomcat 5.5 and Java 6.
