Hi Sean,
Replying to only user list so this doesn't end up cross posted--we have not specifically looked at this. However, our UX group did prioritize finding a way to create easy multifile upload/download. Our dev team is thinking about a javascript based solution--would require specific browsers but at least wil work on newer OSs, unlike WebDav. The only other project addressing this is zip/unzip uploaded/downloaded fies (https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/KNL-273)

Yesterday I said it would be cool if whatever solution we came up with worked like Dropbox. But this is the first time I have heard anyone suggest we actually integrate with Dropbox. Have you started exploring? Is this additional storage option, or is your aim to somehow integrate with Resources? The free 2 GB is bigger than our default quota for Resources.

Also, are there any concerns about hosting course files on external server? I suppose that's why we've never even thought about it, but universities may be getting over their concerns, not sure.

Bcc'ing our team as fyi

Subject: [Building Sakai] Sakai and Cloud-based storage integration?

Are there any institutions looking at, or having experience with, integrating Sakai and cloud-based storage solutions like DropBox or Box.Net?

SMD.
