[Using Sakai] FTP instead of WebDAV: Sakai 2.6

We at Texas State have recently recommended that our Mac users use Cyberduck as our Mac users have had problems using WebDav since Tiger.
I haven't heard of any problems using Vista.

WebDAV has been problematic in a variety of ways since the early days of Sakai.  At UMIch we now recommend that users who are unable to connect using the instructions given in the Upload-Download Multiple Resources page use one of the free 3rd-party clients that we've tested and verified as working with Sakai.  Both of these also support other file transfer protocols such as FTP.  To date, these solutions have worked in nearly 100% of the cases where users could not previously connect. We find it difficult to use WebDAV especially with Vista and we like to keep a standard for our faculty and students.  We use FileZilla but that does not support WebDAV therefore it doesn't help us with Sakai.
