They may appear to be major roadblocks but it may not end up being too
difficult. The 'beer' proposal is already in public beta, has less than 1
question per day, 61 avid users and 156 visits per day

I've received positive feedback from the uPortal SG, they are going to add
it as a discussion item.

We did agree to try this out at the PMC meeting, lets see where it goes.
