[Building Sakai] Help in creating Course Management sample data

Hi Ahmed,

How much sample data are you looking for? We are currently implementing the CM API and had a similar business need.

Our SIS was populated with course data but not enrollment data. I simply queried back the course data from the SIS and then mocked up a few enrollment files that contained 10 instructors and 100 students.

For a basic understanding of how the different associations work (academic session, enrollment sets, etc.) I found it best to start off with very small file entries (1 to 2) and see how Sakai consumes and displays them.

Matt

Hi Ahmed,

Have you tried launching sakai with -Dsakai.demo=true ?

Then you have access to instructor, instructor1, instructor2 and student0001 through student0499 (or something like that) and pre-populated course rosters. Password for all of these is sakai.

Cheers,
Neal

Hello subscribers,

I need sample data to make our business analyst more involved in Sakai's business. I'm running Sakai 10.3 from source and i have created test data by navigating in all available documentation like
this link<https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/SAKDEV/Course+Management+Integration> but i still don't have any student enrolled into any course site.

I can provide you with sample data from my own database to see if i'm doing something wrong.
