[Building Sakai] the maximum size of site lists

Hello All,

We have a special admin user id (admin_XXX). which is currently associated
with 13,493 sites. Whenever this user id has been used, it almost crashes
our system. Actually it crashed our system twice already with Proxy Error
(The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server The
proxy server could not handle the request GET/portal/tool/xxxxxxxxxxxx when
this user clicks Announcements at the My Workspace) . We are using Sakai
2.8.X and I am wondering how many sites Sakai can handle it without hurting
our performance?


PS: I didn't create it and school does not want to give up this user id...
Please advise me what I should/can do in order to relieve this issue.
