[Building Sakai] LTI launch to URLs on ports other than 80

While working on an LTI integration with a tool that was running in
tomcat running on port 8080 I noticed that I received an error.

"This request requires HTTP authentication (launch.no.validate:
signature_invalid)."

However, I don't get that error (the tool launches fine from an LTI
request) when I run apache with mod_proxy in front of tomcat on port
80.

Any ideas why that might be?
