[Building Sakai] Free fon't that's license compatible with Sakai and has good unicode coverage

I've been looking at https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-21922
and one way to improve it would be to ship a free font with Sakai that
has good unicode coverage so that out of the box PDF rendering of Wiki
pages works without any configuration. However most of the fonts in
this area seem to be GPL which isn't going to work (eg
http://www.gnu.org/software/freefont/). Any suggestions?
