[Building Sakai] Fwd: IE 9 has been released

Nico,

I think the first course of action is to ensure that FCKeditor works. There are two workable suggestions at present:

	1. Send HTTP headers that enable IE8 compatibility mode until we can do more thorough testing/fixing
	2. Test FCKeditor 2.6.6, which appears to have fixed the IE hanging problem (which I did not realize)

The issue of porting the CKEditor to 2.7 is quite complicated. I'm sure that anyone asked would say "sure, I'd love to have it for 2.7", but I'm not sure that there are resources to make it happen or what the right approach would be. The changes for 2.8 included infrastructural support that is probably inappropriate for a maintenance release of 2.7 and the test results for CKEditor are still limited, so this prospect involves significant effort.

What I can commit to doing is examining the FCKeditor upgrade. Look for news by sometime next week.

Thanks,
-Noah
