Hi, first time I heared about the BigBlueButton, I'll try it. For Dimdim, you're absolutally
right!

Thanks. That's interesting. I've been looking at open source conferencing systems. I'm
reluctant to try Dimdim, because it seems to have been abandoned by its authors. They did 4.5, but
don't seem to be doing anything further. There are two other open-source systems that I know of,
Openmeetings and BigBlueButton. Of the two, BigBlueButton seems to have more activity. It has a
Sakai integration in contrib, though I haven't tried it yet.

Hi,

First, I installed
Dimdim 4.5 GPL version as a standalone server. I works well.
Second, I used the LinkTool tool
in Sakai to connect it to Dimdim. The idea was to create a web meeting as the name of the course
site. I used the GET.:POST methods gieven with Dimdim intergartion guides. Again, it just
works.

Finally, we added some security tricks like the emails who are authorized to
create meetings and the like, again from the guides of Dimdim and some other guides.

I
would like to see a specific tool for Dimdim intergartion as the one of Elluminate.

Besides, I missed the record meeting option in Dimdim, and again, no new gPL version, ??????

that's all she wrote.

What conclusion did you come to? We have the same situation. I'm
considering putting a bit of development effort into somethinig if I have to, whether agora
maintenance or dimdim integration.

Hello,

You are
evaluating agora and dimdim as two products to integrate with sakai for
video
conferencing.

On the process, I get the latest version of agora outdated, more
than two years and no version released. Is the software still in beta status, or is it stable
for
production use?
