[Building Sakai] Multi tenant/Host Managing

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for the info. I think we tried this before but was not able to get
the results we wanted.

We basically want to have the following:

One web database server

One Sakai Application

Several Admins - but these admins cannot see the courses that are not
assigned to them, and they will have the access only to users that they have
created.

Maybe multi-tenancy is the wrong term I have used. Host Managing on the same
source is what we are looking for.

Would be great if you guys could give me some input on it.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Amy

Amy,

I don't know if this will help, but to add the IMS Basic LTI Producer to
Sakai 2.7, I had to come up with a basic Multi-tenancy approach. This won't
be everything you need but you can take a look at this:

https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/basiclti/trunk/basiclti-portlet/src/java
/org/sakaiproject/blti/ProviderServlet.java

Sakai has a nice data model for mapping "Enterprise IDs" to user Ids - which
has been used in many ways to deal with multiple sets of users on the same
box.

Full multi-tenancy takes a bit more work - but you can get pretty far by
simply name-spacing Enterprise IDs.

/Chuck

Hi Community,

We are currently building Sakai 2.6 into a new staging server and is looking
into making it Multi Tenant.

Is there a way that we can achieve this?
