[Portfolio] OSP performance

We're beginning to look at OSP for large projects, one of which would  
open it to our undergraduates.

I'm concerned whether it can actually be used for large groups of  
people. There seem to be situations where it's doing things that are  
proportional to the number of entries (and sometimes even the number  
squared, though maybe that's been fixed). What is the experience with  
large systems? What's the largest number of users anyone has in the  
portfolio system?
