[samigo-team] What Samigo work in 2.9.3 Sakai?

Hi Laura
SAM-2050 "Associate 2 or more assessments with the same gradebook item" was work done only on Indiana's instance. I'm sure they would be willing to share what they did, but they are not actually going to do the work. It has not been in trunk. If you can rustle up some development resources, I'm sure many would be appreciative.

If someone from Indiana can identify themselves as a contact, that would be great, otherwise, I think Lynn Ward could put you in touch with the right people.

Hi Laura,

Do you have a Jira id for it?

It is much easier to get a bug fix into a maintenance release than a new feature, which this sounds like this is. The TCC criteria for adding an enhancement is here - https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/TCC/Maintenance+Branch+Merge+Policy . Even if the Jira does meet some or all of the criteria, we are trying to keep the scope of 2.9.3 down to a minimum, so a request like this would stand a better chance of getting into 2.9.x (after 2.9.3 is complete). You could start the process now to get the change into 2.9.x . Once a fix is in 2.9.x it makes it easier for institutions to take advantage of the change and it will, by definition, become part of the next official release (aka tag) for CLE 2.9, meaning when a 2.9.4 release happens, the feature would be a part of it.

If there are important bugs that have been fixed in Samigo that did not make it into 2.9.2, those would be better candidates, especially if they have already been tested/verified in trunk.

Thanks,
Neal

Neal,
If the enhancement to designate a single column as the Gradebook home for one or more assessments is not already in, could we get it in this release?

Hi Samigo team,

The CLE release team is planning on a 2.9.3 release. The focus of this release is to get it out quickly with just a few fixes, the main change being to turn on AntiSamy by default. AntiSamy is security infrastructure for ensuring user-supplied HTML/CSS is in compliance within an application's rules. Some bug fixes and translations are also going to be added to the release. Our target for the 2.9.3 schedule is sometime in July.

What would you like to see in 2.9.3 for Samigo?

Thanks,
