OK on further testing I seem to be wrong - for MCQ's the answer is overwritten - so it seems right to delete a no longer referenced answer in EMI's

Hi All,

I'm investigating an issue in the EMI question type and wanted to check as I suspect fixing it will have architectural implications.

Ok the bug is that if a student goes back and changes their answer it is appended to the existing answer.

Looking at the data I suspect that what happens is that all existing questions take the latest answer in the attempt for a specific question. The EMI code accepts that there may be n valid answers for an item to takes all unique answers ...

Is this correct? I assume as well that not deleting an answer is by design and that we would want to keep answers in the database. If this is so the only reliable way of supporting the EMI question is to add a flag to itemgrading to indicate that the answer has been removed.
