[samigo-team] Update on status of SAMigo 2.9 release

I'm a little unclear on SAM-1472.... there was a patch from Paul D that was
committed but a regression was found... no one has solved the regression.
Is the patch from Ying a complete alternative?  Or a patch to fix the
regression caused by the original patch?
