[sakai2-tcc] Feedback on GB Extra Credit minor feature merge into 2.9.x

At the conference, I heard the question "why doesn't Sakai have extra
credit capabilities in the gradebook?"  My response was that it does, go
and merge it into your backport branch:

But it seems like a minor feature that many institutions without
backporting expertise desire.

The database column was added a long time ago:

We have been running this in production for many large clients since
January 2012.

We maintain our backport branches here:

  https://source.sakaiproject.org/viewsvn/msub/longsight.com/gradebook/

The gradebook tool does not have a current lead.

So the question: is this of interest to other institutions as a possible
2.9.x merge, or should we just wait for the next major CLE release?
