1) Educause debrief - Chuck S. and Neal made an appearance so that folks knew that Sakai CLE is still around. Neal hung out at the rSmart, Longsight and Unicon booths. Blackboard booth presentation, joint Chuck S. and Neal, was only 10 minutes. Enough time to hit a few highlights but not enough to attract a crowd. Biggest crowds were at Chuck S.'s book signing and presentation. I got a couple of inquiries about "Sakai 3".

2) EuroSakai - Neal going to submit proposals for presentations on Sakai CLE (2.9 changes and what we know so far about 2.10) and co-presenting with Alan Berg on Community participation. This discussion brought up the need for future TCC discussion about European participation. And it brought up question about title for next release (i.e. is 2.10 going to be confusing as a name? at what point do we switch to 3 ?). Again, for future TCC discussion. Also for near future, probably January, start discussion on 2.10 scope for TCC.

3) Status of 2.9.1 - will review with CLE release team on Thursday and determine likely schedule. Target date for final release is Dec 21. We should have a better idea if we are on track for an RC01 for sometime next week after CLE review tomorrow.

4) Steps for Security group? Lots of suggestions on this one. Neal will be sending a call for security contacts to the broader community in the near future, which may help identify institutions which are "under the radar". Will cull through Security WG list to see who is still active. Security contacts list could be a good list for reaching out. Goal - more active Security working group and/or sub-groups. Alan Berg volunteered to lead a Security Pen (penetration) group. Worth exploring if there could be a testing automation group. Neal also brought up need for other needs for expanded community, like the Accessibility group. Indiana and UMich have been the leaders of this group for a long time, would be good to find some additional institutions to participate and to help lead. Perhaps can have "synergy" with efforts to expand Security WG?

4) Acknowledgements to supporting vendors. As Seth and Anthony pointed out, this web mention might be sufficient - http://www.sakaiproject.org/our-software-partners . Neal may want to do more. Brought up discussion of Social media use in communicating about Sakai. Might be something to look at, especially after Apereo merger. Some sort of live Twitter stream seems like a good idea. Discussed example of Planet Sakai. Might be good to publicize this resource a bit more - http://planetsakai.org/

5) additional agenda item - Confluence - main problem is that we want to expand participation in documenting Sakai, but for some areas would like quality control/enhanced workflow. This might also be something to look for after the Apereo merger. When Neal has free time might do some cleanup of Confluence but not wanting to put in a major effort since we might want to re-think this in a new way.

I think that covers the major highlights. Please feel free to ask clarifying questions.

Cheers,

Neal Caidin

Out of 51 issues, 32 already Verified or Closed, and another 12 are resolved (some may need Qa testing, some may already be tested, etc.), that accounts for 44 of 51 issues. 26 of these are critical/blocker issues and the other half are predominantly major issues (3 minor).
