I think it is well-established that TCC membership and Board 
membership are compatible. Whether TCC *leadership roles* are 
compatible with Board membership is a different issue.

Personally, I feel that that the TCC leadership needs to be 
independent of an entity that it essentially negotiates with from 
time to time. When I ran for the Sakai Board in 2010, I told 
Megan that I planned to resign as TCC chair if elected to the 
Board. In the end I wasn't elected to the Sakai Board, so it was 
moot.
