FWIW, at the meeting the thought was not to distinguishing between indie/non-indie/kernel.    

As for string freeze, we acknowledged that it wasn't as early as we'd like but needed to be later for 2.8 if we're going to release by March 1.  I'd like a little more elaboration on your -1.   Can you tell us concrete dates for code freeze / string freeze / documentation / translation timing?

Think indies should be ready no later than the non-indie part.
