[Using Sakai] numeric answer questions in Tests & Quizzes - do the instructions seem overzealous?

I have an instructor who is pointing out that, if one uses many numeric response questions on a test or quiz in the Samigo module, the instructions become overzealous.

Each time a numeric response question is presented on a quiz, the user sees:

> Accepted characters: numbers, decimal point markers (period or comma), sign indicators (-), spaces (e.g., as thousands separator, 5 000), "E" or "e" (used in scientific notation). NOTE: For scientific notation, a period MUST be used as the decimal point marker.
> Complex numbers should be in the form (a + bi) where "a" and "b" need to have explicitly stated values.
> For example: {1+1i} is valid whereas {1+i} is not. {0+9i} is valid whereas {9i} is not.

I have to agree with my instructor. Seeing this once on a quiz makes sense, and perhaps the instructor could place it in the instructions at the top of the quiz or at the top of the section containing numeric response questions. But to have this lengthy text appear EVERY time a question is of the numeric response type seems excessive. If a quiz has 25 questions on it that are all numeric response, this text would appear 25 times.

Does anyone else share this opinion?

Thanks,
