[Using Sakai] [Building Sakai] Tests & quizzes FORCE submit feature

Hi Beth,

>From my experience, there are several variables that determine whether
the "allow retake" link displays. So for example, after the rectract
date passes, the number of allowed submissions is a factor--with
"unlimited," the link only displays for students who submitted before
retraction, while a set number of submissions will result in the link
displaying for all students, even if they didn't submit.

There is definitely a chance of data loss if a student is taking an
assessment close to the retract date--once that date passes, the
student loses access and cannot submit. But timed assessments appear
to be an exception. The retract date will override the timed
assessment period, but the timer will reflect the actual time
remaining. Once the retract date passes, the assessment appears to
autosubmit by the timer.

So let's say you're a student, and you begin a 1-hour test but with
only 30 minutes until the retract date/time. When you actually begin,
the timer will indicate 30 minutes. And once that time expires, the
assessment autosubmits. Student answers should be saved.
