It would be a lot of work - this is how portlets have worked in Sakai since 2006.

And honestly I tink that wasting that vertical space in the *iframe tool* is a bad mistake.

It is not impossible - I would really rather not re-do this for Sakai-10 since we have all new documentation and I don't want ot invalidate all that - but since Sakai-11 should have a 100% new skin top-to-bottom this might be something to consider.
