[Using Sakai] Samigo: Is it possible to put a character limit on a Short Answer/Essay question type

In Samigo, there is a Short Answer /Essay question type which allows for open text responses.
We had a question from someone that wanted to limit the response length.  I can't see an option for this but think that this would be of interest to limit responses to say 400 characters or 150 words.

Any ideas if this is something that has been considered?
