[Using Sakai] Forum analysis

Has anyone developed tools which would provide some automatic metrics and analysis of forum traffic?

For example, a table per student of messages posted, depth of response tree, latency of faculty response, etc.
This could serve as a way to measure both student participation, course interaction levels, and faculty support levels.

In a similar direction, is there any interest or idea to add a "like" (or "+1") button to form messages for peer-peer feedback, like SO and other forums have?
