[Using Sakai] How to create a URL reference to an assignment in a course?

Hmm, sorry to be dense, but I am trying to get the list of assignments as you describe, and copied the site-id from the front page
   http://sakai.mysite/portal/site/48745a63-5bab-4f9b-9420-34c9dc8bbf36
and tried:
   http://sakai.mysite/direct/assignment/site/48745a63-5bab-4f9b-9420-34c9dc8bbf36.xml

  But get this error – am I missing something simple here?
   Attempted to access an entity URL path (/assignment/site/48745a63-5bab-4f9b-9420-34c9dc8bbf36.xml) for an entity (/assignment/site) that does not exist

Yep

/direct/assignment/site/siteid.format gives you a list of assignments for the site. That's for trunk and was part of project Keitai. Search jira and there is a commit or two you can pull back to other versions. The URL API is documented in that jira too.

Thanks – how do I get the ID to use for each assignment?

You can use entity broker to get a URL directly to an assignment. /direct/assignments/id

Note that it opens without the portal surround.

How do I create those links? When I try to insert a hyperlink and browse, so far I only see resources as candidate links.
