[Using Sakai] duplicated course - lose categories for assignments...

I believe these are two different things you are looking at.  The "from
assignments" means it's an item that is from the Assignments tool and not
which category it was placed in.  As for the categories coming over in the
import, I haven't tried it, but I bet it has to do with the settings of the
gradebook you are importing into.  Try setting the GB settings in the new
GB to be a category gradebook then import.  If this works, then it sounds
like we need to determine if importing should modify the existing GB's
settings or not.  (usually only data structures come over and no settings
or data).
