[Using Sakai] Site Info -> Page Order -> Hide, Disable

I understand why the hide option would be very useful,especially if the
instructor would like weekly units in Lessons and wants to control how the
students access the material.

Since Assignments, Tests & Quizzes and Forums are easily added through
Lessons, what would be the expected behavior of the links created
automatically on the Home page?

Forums are hidden on the menu, (as intended), are accessible through
Lessons, (as intended), but if a someone posts to a Forum, a link shows up
on the Home page of the site under Messages & Forums notifications, but
Forums are not accessible to students through this link.

 Assignments: if the instructor selects to post the assignment open date to
Announcements, that link is also not accessible to students.

I would think if a tool creates a link in the site and students are able to
view the link, even if the tool is hidden on the menu, the student should
be able to have access through the link. If the student should not have
access, the links should not display, especially with Forums. With
Assignments, the instructor can make sure not to post the open date to
Announcements, but with  Forums, the instructor has no control and I would
think having a link that doesn't work would be confusing to students.
