[Using Sakai] Decouple open/start dates for assignments?

I have some assignments that are assigned on one day, due on another, but I would like to make them visible from the start of the course, but still alert students when they should start working on them. Early visibility makes the course structure and progress through assignments more visible, and allows student sto start earlier if they wish.

On the assignments it declares that: "Students will not see this assignment until the open date" - is there any way to make this an option, or change it?
Basically can one decouple the visible and start dates?
