 Hi Gregory,

Typically, the instructor and TA role would also not have the
following permissions enabled:

gradebook.viewOwnGrades
assessment.submitAssessmentForGrade
assessment.takeAssessment

The last two are for the Tests & Quizzes (Samigo) tool.

A quick "realms" overview: each site in Sakai has a realm, which is
the set of roles and permissions for that site. You can edit site
realms in the "Realms" tool (in the Admin WS). If you want to edit the
realm of a specific site, select the Realms tool and enter the site ID
in the search field. You'll find all the roles for that site. Click on
a role to edit its permissions.

In the Realms tool, you'll also find template realms, such as the
"!site.template.course" realm. It establishes all roles and
permissions for course sites--when they get created. So, if you make a
change to the "!site.template.course" realm, you'll only see the
change in new course sites, not existing course sites.

Some tools (such as Assignments) allow permission changes in the UI.
With these tools, both site owners and admins can make permission
changes. But for other tools (such as Gradebook), only admins can make
permission changes.
