[Using Sakai] SOLVED: Assignment grade exists but ungraded

I turns out the instructor associated the assignment with an existing gradebook entry which displayed the grades already in the gradebook.

Hello,

An instructor gave an assignment and doesn't recall assigning grades to the students but somehow the students received grades.  He's not sure how this occurred and I'm not sure how students can receive a grade and NOT have the status changed to Graded.

Any ideas how a student can have a grade and the status set to ungraded or No Submission?
