[Using Sakai] Kaltura questions

Hi, everybody.

We are currently researching the Kaltura video platform and its Sakai's
module from Unicon. At this moment, we are using a Flash video Drupal
CMS ( http://upnatv.unavarra.es ) to make video available for our
university, but it lacks of an integration with Sakai and we think that
Kaltura could fill that gap.

However, we have a couple of questions about it. If somebody who has a
deeper knowledge of this platform could answer them, we would be very
grateful.

- We have started using the Unicon server to test the Media Gallery
tool. It looks great, but when we have uploaded a video, we thought that
Site's access control would be applied on that video. So one teacher can
have on Kaltura, through Sakai, their subject's private videos only for
their students. However, pasting the embed code makes the video publicly
viewable, even it's not set to be public. Is it possible to pass Sakai's
access control on Kaltura?

- One of the best features of Drupal are Views, which we use to give the
sense of having a kind of "Channels". Besides giving video capabilities
to our Sakai users, we would like to have a front-end portal where
public videos could be browsed, maybe separating them by categories. It
seems that Kaltura just gives back-end services and leaves the front-end
for other platforms, including a module for Drupal. I would like to
hear your experiences with this. Could be maintaining a front-end in
Drupal compatible with the use of Media Gallery on Sakai? Which other
alternatives are you using out there to have a public viewable and
browseable front-end?

Thank you in advance.
Best regards.
