[Using Sakai] sakai 2.7 installation help needed

Regarding sakai.properties: using the /config project's default.sakai.properties as the basis for your local $CATALINA_HOME/sakai/sakai.properties file is actually a fine idea. It is the default configuration file that, in conjunction with kernel.properties, is loaded by Sakai on start up.

You override these default settings by providing a "local" sakai.properties file for Sakai to load and consume, typically located in $CATALINA_HOME/sakai although you can also locate the file outside Tomcat. default.sakai.properties includes the key settings you need to begin to configure your Sakai instance according to your local needs; however note that it is by no means comprehensive. There are many properties (optional and otherwise) that are not listed in it.

As I noted below the fun begins when you start to adjust the default settings to meet your local needs.

Cheers,

Anthony
