[Using Sakai] In what language(s) is Sakai written?

The ohloh analysis can be misleading around the edges, as it's based
on LOC, but here's the code lines broken down for core Sakai 2.x. [1]

Sakai 3 is taking a kind of Google approach, with Java for back-end
services and JS/CSS for the front-end. Compare [2] and [3]

PS If you want to ask more questions about code and coding, I'd
recommend the sakai-dev email list
