[Using Sakai] Question on... Migrating content FROM MOODLE TOSAKAI

Hi Adam,

We haven't had such a problem as we didn't use Moodle but we had a home-made platform as source. What we did was to create IMS CP packages and read them from Melete. If you don't want to use Melete you probably can use a web service to copy and paste your contents to Resources tool. As Daniel said you also can try using WebDav...

Hi, Adam. Although we have moved from WebCT 4.1 to Sakai, I think that
we could have similar interests.

We exported the contents from WebCT with a migration tool which linked
them in html pages and after that, we loaded the WebCT files into
Resources with a WebDAV script. We moved the html too, so with the Web
Content tool we can present the public contents to the course's students
in a similar way to their previous WebCT's courses.

Our biggest problem with this approach is that some resources were
public in WebCT and some were private. We would like to set these
properties automatically in the Resources files but we aren't able to do it.

Maybe a web service which modifies the Resources files metadata would be
useful for both of us. I think that actually it doesn't exist nothing
simillar. Am I wrong?

Best regards.

We create a CP in bodington and save all the meta data to the manifest; ideally this metadata would end up being saved in the resource description and meta data fields of the Edit Details page. One solution is to use Melete, but we dont really want to do this.
