[Using Sakai] Converting quizzes with superscripts and subscripts

This is a pretty narrowly defined problem, but would relieve a great deal of
frustration and time if someone has already come up with a good way to
accomplish the goal...

Chemistry instructors have quiz problems in Microsoft Word that need to be
converted to Sakai¹s Tests and Quizzes.  We have tried Claremont McKenna
College¹s conversion tool.  However, these Chemistry questions use a lot
subscripts and superscripts which aren¹t translating.

I am hoping someone out there has a good process to do this.  I would
appreciate any suggestions.
