In the event others were interested, I found out that the groups do not auto magically update as students are added to the site.

Hi everyone,
As IU has been locally testing 2.6 for our upcoming upgrade I've been looking at the new auto groups feature in Site Info. This feature allows the creation of role groups and groups for sections outside of the Section Info tool. The JIRA the feature was implemented under: http://bugs.sakaiproject.org/jira/browse/SAK-13413
>From what I've read I think it should automatically update the group membership. I've tried to verify this by creating a student role group using the auto group feature in manage groups, but on all the servers I've tried (qa1-ZA, nightly 2.6.x, nightly/oracle), the group only contains existing students in the sites. Any additional students are not placed in the group. This could be really problematic if an instructor restricts an item to students but only some of them have access to this!
Am I misunderstanding how the feature works?
