There is also something to be said for the disproportionally high
representation of Macs within incoming student bodies. General web
trend figures are not likely to reflect accurately the "I just got my
laptop (and first Mac) because I'm starting college" crowd. I don't
think the figures of Safari on PC are especially affected by this
now, but may be slightly bumped by the iTunes / iPod / iPhone
popularity and connection.
Also, for the general record, Safari 3 (not just 4) does support
FCKeditor and works reasonably well with Sakai 2.6 (not that I'm
saying I've regression tested the whole suite). Michigan has been
running with its updated FCKeditor for many months and does get some
nontrivial Safari usage. Jeff or Steve could probably give an
anecdote on trending.
Thanks,
-Noah
