I've cut the first beta tag for the upcoming sakai-2.5.5 release.   
It's available at

https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/sakai/tags/sakai-2.5.5-beta01/

Three projects were refreshed in the 2.5.5 branch from the 2.5.x  
branch: assignments, calendar and search.  The specific revisions are  
noted in the 2.5.5 branch .externals 2.5.x to 2.5.5 file:

sakai-2.5.5/.externals_2-5-xto2-5-5

The beta01 tag .externals_2-5-xto2-5-5 has not been updated.
