Hi,

There have been some further changes to the chat code in trunk, so any further testing on the nightly2 trunk servers is still welcome.

Cheers

Hi all,

r59503 commits a recent patch to trunk from Chuck Hedrick which addresses several tool-state issues in Chat to do with opening multiple chat rooms in different browser tabs. The JIRA is http://jira.sakaiproject.org/jira/browse/SAK-13782

This is now up on nightly2, e.g. http://nightly2.sakaiproject.org:8082/portal (login admin/admin). Note that the nightly servers are rebuilt every 4 hours - schedule visible at http://nightly2.sakaiproject.org/.

If you have some spare QA time, please test Chat on the trunk build, in particular opening multiple chat rooms in different browser tabs. The best way to test this might be to create two users, user1 and user2, logged into Sakai using 2 different browsers (e.g. FF and IE7), and in each browser, go to the Chat tool, set up 3 different rooms (A, B, C) and open each room in a different browser tab.

Then post messages from both users into the different rooms and check that they show up correctly as seen from both user's perspective. Also check that the chat presence behaves appropriately.

This fix is targetted at 2.6.0, so any testing that you can contribute in the short term will be helpful.

Regards
Stephen
