[Building Sakai] Archiving sakai sites

Jaco,

I think the Archive functionality is working like it should. It’s not designed to REMOVE the existing site, it’s only supposed to Export the site for archiving or transferring to another Sakai system.

If you would like to delete/unpublish the site or dis-enroll all users after archiving that would be another step in your process.

Hi Tyler

Thanks for your reply and for the alternative solution. We will look into that.

However this still does not solve the fact that the Archiving functionality in Preferences tool is working like it should? Are we missing something here?

Hello,

You can go to Site Info -> Manage Access to unpublish the site. Check the option to Leave As Draft, which should make the site unavailable to everyone except the maintainers/instructors.

Answers to questions like this can also be found by using the built-in Sakai help by clicking the small blue question mark in the upper right corner.

Thanks,
Tyler

Hi everyone

I've archived certain sites on my sakai instance using the Preferences tool.

But the participants within the archived sites are still able to access(view) the sites.

I would like to prevent the participants of the archived sites from accessing those sites.

Can anyone please shed some light.

Thank you in advance.

Regards
Mtho.
