[Building Sakai] Webservice for Profile

Hi.

I am trying to add a user to Sakai through web services (works easily), 
but I would also like to add the user's mobile number into his profile 
(by extending the addNewUser method). I have googled around and looked 
on the wiki, but I cannot find any help regarding this.

I am running Sakai 2.8.2. Can anybody point me in the right direction 
please?
