[Building Sakai] Site Stats Entity Broker help / Learning Analytics

I wanted the results of a pre-defined report (either default or user-created) to be available via JSON. Matthew had a quick look and said there's no code behind the /direct/sitestats-report/ is just an unimplemented interface.

My BIG IDEA was to set up some reports, eg, forum posts by user, and then to provide a colourful graphical representation of the number of posts made by individual users. I thought it would make a good student project.

This is just a proof-of-concept idea, there's probably loads of other pretty Learning Analytics data that could be processed. I was inspired by Patrick Lynch's presentation at Sakai Eurp earlier on this month where they process site stats reports in Excel.

Sitestats isn't on the radar for any Project Keitai development at this stage, but it could be, given support etc.
There looks like there is a sitestats-metrics endpoint in trunk that gives a basic report.
What kind of report did you want? To run an actual sitestats report and get the data via EB?

cheers,
Steve

It turns out that "/direct/sitestats-report/:ID:" does nothing at all. Zilch. Zero. Nada.

Is implementing this planned for KeiTei 2 perchance? I had a neat "Learning Analytics" Javascript project which was planning to use the above interface.

I wanted to test out the functionality of Site Stats' Entity Broker interface.

In /direct/describe I see

Sample Entity URLs (_id=':ID:') [may not be valid]:
Show Entity URL: GET /sitestats-report/:ID:

Q1 - how do I find out the ID of a Site Stats report?

Q2 - can somebody give me an example of how to construct the URL, is it

        https://staging.weblearn.ox.ac.uk/direct/sitestats-report/_id=1234567890

or

  https://staging.weblearn.ox.ac.uk/direct/sitestats-report/1234567890

or something entirely different?
