[Building Sakai] sakai demo 2.9.2 suddenly doesn't start after being operational for a weeks

Looks like it's a database corruption, after removing .../sakai/db/ files
sakai was able to start successfully, but I lost all data

is there a way to recover corrupt HSQLDB database from sakai.db.backup file or data?
