[Building Sakai] Chat Portal issue or it is by design ?

Hello,

I made a test on the QA5 testing server: Sakai - 10-qa05 2014/03/24 - Sakai
10-qa05 (Kernel 10-qa05) - Server server59

I was testing the portal instant chat.

The chat message disappear when moving to another tool or site! is it by design, or just
an issue that needs a Jira?

I guess the content of that instant messages is not stored
in a database! can you clarify how it is working!
