[Building Sakai] 2.9.x issues

Hi all,

I have just built 2.9.x locally and am seeing the left hand menu for the
tools working, but with the text and icons hidden. I am also seeing that
the demo does not allow a new user to create a site. Is this just my local
machine or are others seeing the same issue?

I am using the current version of Firefox on Ubuntu.
